CALLIGRAPHERS FOR HIRE
The following members are available for custom work such as certificates and documents, event invitations and envelopes, handwritten signs, family trees, and other projects.
Click on the member's name to see their profile, including images of their work. From there you can contact the member.
The Calligraphy Guild Pittsburgh does not make recommendations of individual calligraphers. The agreement of any work to be conducted by a calligrapher is solely between the client and calligrapher.
Tips on how to hire a calligrapher for your next project or special event:
1. View photography of the calligrapher's work. Many of our members have a Member Gallery on this website or have their own website. You can ask to have photos emailed to you or meet in person.
2. Discuss the details of your project. If possible, show images of what type of work you are looking for the calligrapher to do.
3. Discuss the timeline and your deadline. Calligraphers need the content from you well in advance . They are creating custom,
hand-lettered work that requires pre-planning.
4. Agree on cost. Custom work generally includes set up cost, supplies, and either a cost per piece or an estimated cost based on the time involved. Changes once a project is started may cost extra. Proofread in advance of when hand-lettering begins. Most calligraphers will ask for a deposit and full payment upon delivery.
